
The situation in Napa Valley was similar to that in Sonoma Valley (as I described here), in that there were two overlapping and competing lines:

The section of this line from Napa to Krug is still in operation, as the Wine Train route.

San Francisco, Napa and Calistoga Railway
This was an electric interurban railroad. Its primary function was to facilitate access to Calistoga from San Francisco Bay ferries that docked at Vallejo. Once the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay bridges were built, its value declined.
